Bienvenu a Gay Paris!

It is commonly said that France is known for its wine, politically-incorrect women with underwear that leave little to the imagination, the anti-English who would jump at the chance to learn the language, and a fantastic capital city that is both the City of Lights and the City That Belongs To The Dogs.

Fine, maybe the streets are not clogged up with dog droppings all the time, but that really does depend on whether the street cleaners are on strike or not. Besides, why bother about such trivial matters when I've got more important things to worry about? After all, Betty could be here in Paris, learning from the master romancers to get some sort of revenge against Archie and Veronica. If not, heck, it wouldn't really matter as long as Nat uses our one day here in Paris to get some great-looking underwear.

The flight from London to Paris was a really short one, but was quite well-spent in my opinion. There's nothing better than having a gorgeous girlfriend sleeping next to you with her head on your shoulder. Sure, the thirty-minute flight meant that we really could not recline our seats, but it did not matter anyway. As long as I had some sort of physical contact with her, I was happy.

As soon as the plane started descending, I tapped Nat on the shoulder to wake her up. "Hey, nap-time's over. Time to wake up, Dear."

"Five more minutes, please... Soooo sleepy..."

God, she just looks so cute like that. I still had to wake her up, though. Nat's a redhead, and redhead's tend to react quite strongly to sudden situations. As the plane neared the tarmac, I lifted her head and proceeded to kiss her as though it would be the last ever kiss the instant her eyes opened. While all this was happening, I saw a brief flash of anger in her eyes that made way for her understanding of the situation, followed by a mischievous twinkle of approval. Before I knew it, she was kissing me back.

If we had allowed our desire to take over, we would have been the very first members of the Not-Exactly-A-Mile-High Club, which is not as exciting as being part of the Mile High Club, but would still be more than what Reggie would ever get. Thank God for the timely bump as the plane made contact with the tarmac. As we finally pulled away, the twinkle was still in Nat's eye.

"Well, that was one plane landing that I'll be remembering for a long while, Forsythe."

Huh. She took that well. Makes me wonder if she's actually not a redhead at all. If I play my cards right, I might be able to find out.

-----------------------------------------

Our first order of business was to find a hotel straight away. While we've spent quality time cuddling on coaches and on a plane, what we needed was proper accommodation. As much as making out is nice, it would be more interesting lying down.

All thoughts of pleasure were immediately wiped out as our pseudo-suicidal taxi driver immediately swerved to avoid the car he was approaching from behind at a ridiculously high speed.

"Vous êtes Américains, non?" The taxi driver was snarling as though he wanted to teach us a lesson. "Zis is how vous should drive. All zees drivers, zey are très slow. If zey drive slow, zey should ride ze motorcycles instead!"

I really should have done a much better job at waking Nat up back on the plane. Heck, we really should have let our desires override our common sense back then. As I looked at Nat, I could tell that she was thinking the exact same thing as I was when she mouthed the words "hotel" and "bed" to me.

Well, that gave me something to look forward to, assuming that we survive our taxi trip to the city outskirts.

-----------------------------------------

Three hours after our plane took off from Heathrow Airport in London, we were already in a decent Parisian hotel room, where I discovered through intensive exploration that Nat is a natural redhead.

Take that, Reggie Mantle!

-----------------------------------------

"So, what do you want in life?" Nat asked as she waited for her pasta to be served. The two of us were at a Parisian café having an early dinner after our little tryst in the hotel room.

"I..." This was a tough question for me to answer. Prior to this summer break, the only things I was ever interested in were food and slacking off, and I was afraid that revealing that little tidbit would give Nat a bad impression of me. Then again, honesty is an important aspect to being in a relationship. "Well, before summer break, the only things I would ever enjoy involved food and sleeping. I only saw hard work as a means to make extra cash, and not as a learning experience. Having met you, though," I trailed off as I subconsciously stroked her hand.

"Hmmm? Go on."

"I think it'd be a great idea for me if I could just travel around the world, seeing all the sights, sampling all the cuisine. Heck, I can probably get the money for that in a few years - a few months ago, I swore to start paying off my tabs to everyone I've mooched money off from just to get out of debt to an annoying classmate. With everything paid off, I decided to cash in on my underrated intellect and tutor the academically-weaker students, who would pay me back with food. All that free food meant that I could save my pocket money and odd-job wages for something else."

"So, within a few years, I'll have saved up enough to go on a proper world tour and make my own video about my travels."

"Sounds like a neat plan." Nat took a sip of her wine before continuing on. Is she blushing? I swear, she looks cute like that. "But for your love life?"

"I'll be honest, in the past, I wasn't really into romance, but I've learnt that I need to change in order to grow up. I've actually had a couple of small romances before, but both Betty and myself have stood by each other during difficult times to the point that people who do not know us would assume that we're boyfriend and girlfriend. Of course, it still really wasn't enough for me, but I have noticed how beautiful Betty looks when she's trying to put on a smile even though she's terribly upset. It was only until I heard that she was traveling around the world by herself that I realized that I cared about her in more than a just-friends manner."

"Awww, that sounds cute."

"And of course, I met you, Nat." As I held her hand, I could not help but pour out my feelings. "You've fun to be with, you've got a sense of mischief that I can definitely appreciate, and you're sexy as hell in a cute way. Out of all the girls save for Betty whom I know, you're the only one who has captured my breath." God, that sounded corny, but I knew that I was on a roll that could not be stopped. "Regardless of whatever happens between Betty and myself, I'd like you to follow me around the world."

"Forsythe..."

-----------------------------------------

My honesty worked, and it paid off with a trip to the nearby pharmacy before we headed back to the hotel.
